So, in my writing life, I prefer to be known as Joanne Louise. I hope it doesn’t come across as too odd. There is a story behind it but for now, suffice to say, Joanne Louise is my name. It is an extension of my mothers; Anne Louise. Now, my granddaughter has the Louise bit too – Natalie Lily Louise and I’m incredibly proud and honoured.
I am a mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunty (33 nieces and nephews) and a grandmother. I am an expert at all, but certainly no master. I am a partner to a man who seems to understand life better than I ever will, an expert you might say, yet he is no master at that.
Living in the wonderfully diverse county of Leicestershire I have the countryside on my doorstep which helps balance the work I do in the city centre. I am fortunate to enjoy a garden where I quite happily swing gently in my homemade hammock reading a good book.
I am a tutor in alternative provision – this brings stress, joy, fun, tears, and rewards beyond measure. It’s busy for the mind.
I am also a cleaner – this brings satisfaction, fitness, friendship, aching muscles and time to listen to audio books. It’s busy for the body.
